Size reduction takes place in the wedge shaped area between the fixed crushing arm and one moved by an eccentric drive shaft. The elliptical motion crushes the sample which then falls under gravity. As soon as the sample is smaller than the discharge gap width, it falls into a removable collector within the Jaw Crusher. The continuous gap width setting with scale ensures optimum size reduction in accordance with the set gap width.

    Function Principle

    The grinding jar is arranged eccentrically on the sun wheel of the planetary ball mill. The direction of movement of the sun wheel is opposite to that of the grinding jars in the ratio 1:-2.

    The grinding balls in the grinding jars are subjected to superimposed rotational movements, the so-called Coriolis forces. The difference in speeds between the balls and grinding jars produces an interaction between frictional and impact forces, which releases high dynamic energies. The interplay between these forces produces the high and very effective degree of size reduction of the planetary ball mill.

    Planetary mills with a single grinding station require a counterweight for balancing purposes. In the Ball Mill PM 100 this counterweight can be adjusted on an inclined guide rail. In this way the different heights of the centers of gravity of differently-sized grinding jars can be compensated in order to avoid disturbing oscillations of the machine.

    Any remaining vibrations are compensated by feet with some free movement (Free-Force Compensation Sockets). This innovative FFCS technology is based on the d’Alembert principle and allows very small circular movements of the machine housing that result in an automatic mass compensation.     Planetary Ball Mills are used wherever the highest degree of fineness is required.     Function Principle

    The grinding jars are arranged eccentrically on the sun wheel of the planetary ball mill. The direction of movement of the sun wheel is opposite to that of the grinding jars in the ratio 1:-2 (or 1:-2.5 or 1:-3).

    The grinding balls in the grinding jars are subjected to superimposed rotational movements, the so-called Coriolis forces. The difference in speeds between the balls and grinding jars produces an interaction between frictional and impact forces, which releases high dynamic energies. The interplay between these forces produces the high and very effective degree of size reduction of the planetary ball mill.

    Function Principle

    The Vibratory Disc Mill RS 200 comminutes by impact and friction. The grinding set is firmly attached to the vibration plate with a quick-action lever. The plate with the grinding set is subjected to circular horizontal vibrations.

    The centrifugal force acting on the grinding rings in the dish results in extreme pressure, impact and frictional forces acting on the sample, producing analytical fineness in 1-3 minutes. The circular vibrations are produced by a frequency controlled 1.5 kW 3-phase motor.
    A sensor recognizes the presence of agate grinding sets and automatically limits the speed to 700 min-1 to avoid damaging the agate. The cover of the noiseinsulated grinding chamber has a safety interlock and can only be opened when the mill is at a standstill.
